Monkey Tagged

"Tag", I'm it. I got "tagged".

I was reading Junior's blog a couple days ago, and ~there~ it was in black and white, right there on the screen.

I thought he was calling me out or somethin', but I really had no idea. I looked around and didn't see anything. I didn't smell anything. I wasn't hurt. I sure was confused though. Eventually, I shrugged it off.

Two days later....poor Junior had to explain it to me. Poor me. Now, he probably thinks I'm a dumb-bee. How embarrassing. (Hitting myself in the head with paw.) I should have figured it out! I told Junior that I don't wander too far away from my blog, out into the bloggie-world, so I wasn't familiar with the term.

So now I know. So, here I go.....and if you don't know, now you know!

FIVE REASONS WHY I BLOG:

The #1 reason i blog: To hopefully bring a smile to my reader's face.

The #2 reason i blog: To hopefully make my reader laugh.

The #3 reason I blog: To hopefully brighten my reader's day.

The 4th reason I blog: The satisfying feeling I get if my top three reasons are fulfilled.

The 5th reason I blog: To turn my readers into MonkeyBunkey Junkies. Heh Heh

Um, is the mic. still on? Am I supposed to tag 5 other kitties? (scratching head) Ok, I tag, Calvin; Ms. Ceci and the 2B's; and Kazumi Joy! You're "it".

Monkey Decision

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm a sleepy Monkey. So sleepy, I haven't moved since I woke up a few minutes ago. I fell back asleep. I'm awake now to write this blog, but then guess what? Mr. Monk is going to his sleep bunk. ONLY, if I can get the energy to move. Actually, just the thought is making me nod off.

Nevermind.

I'm making an executive decision right now. "I've been and am going to continue snoozin' until I decide it's time to wake up." I don't care. Isn't that part of my job description as a kitty?

At least I'm not the only one. (Even if I was, big deal.)

I've got loyal followers so that's enabling me to continue with my snooze fest. Mommy came home and was wiped out. She's napping right now. Good Mommy....always a great supporter. Maybe it's a new trend? You see this one right here?

Yeah um, guess what?

She's so passed out, she's snoring! Heh heh She's so cute. "Oh, what's that?"...I gotta go...............sleep is calling.

Monkey Decision

I was just about to go into my tent for some nappage, when I saw Cooper hiding under the bed. I stood there for a moment, unable to muster up the energy to pounce. I really wanted to attack.......but sleep was calling.

It's a good thing I decided to make a quick right turn, into my tent. I fell asleep before my tail hit the floor.

Sometimes, energy is best saved for later.

Monkey Rocks the Boat

Before you come to any conclusions....no, I am not making nice with Cooper in this picture. She's my sister, why would I do that? heh heh

Let's start with, this is my bed. I mean, it was my bed. I graciously gave it to her, only after she stole it. Well, I mean, I obviously didn't want it or need it anymore, so I let her have it. Only then, did it become her bed. Thanks to me!

Last night it was on top of a box and although it wasn't very sturdy, she was sleeping on it anyway. She's not the sharpest pencil, remember? I can't believe I'm even telling you this story, 'cuz if anything, it makes me look silly. Ah well, I can laugh at myself, so here it goes.

As sweet as she looks and can be.....sometimes she just let's the beast out. In this case, it was on me! I walked over to make sure the box was sturdy, so I could .......attack her. (what?)

Well, my plan was foiled. I stepped on to the bed, feeling it slightly teeter. I slowly sat down next to her, and as I leaned in to sniff her, she bopped me on the head!!!! I know!!! It was like this sideways karate kick/slice/jab thing. I was shocked. Shocked at her very un-lady like behavior. What a little monkey girl she is!!! That brat! So don't think she's peaches and cream. More like, she's a little sweet and sour! heh heh

Oh yeah, and get this..............remember I said the box wasn't sturdy? Well right when she bopped me, I backed up and guess what? Yep. The bed tipped over and we both fell out of it and we each ran like the wind..... in two different directions of course.

Oh, don't you worry, I snuck up on her later and got her back! Heh heh

It's my Daddy's Birthday!!!

Daddy, today is your day and we want you to know that we think you are the bestest!

Since it's a special occasion, I teamed up with Cooper and we made these pics/presents for you! Hope you like them!

I'm posting them here so the world can see how much we love you!!

Ok, Coopies, you're up first....GO!

"CHIRP!"

"CHIRP!"

Good job Coopie! Huh Daddy?

Oh yeah, are we having cake and ice cream with you???

OK, me, next.

I tried to use wrapping paper, but you know how that goes...not too good without thumbs! heh heh

Wrapping paper is fun to lay out on the floor and walk on. BUT, then the crinkly noise and slippery feel gets me nuts. I can't help but get da-kawayzees slipping, sliding and hiding and all that stuff. It's madness!

On a side note, to add to our list of your birthday gifts, we also cleaned the house and the kitchen and did your laundry! Those count right? Heh Heh

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!

With tons and tons of kitty nuzzles, head-butts, kitty-loves, purrs and smooches.....Girl & Monkers

Monkey Bug Spy

Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. Out of the corner of my eye, I spy a bug.

I freeze. I wait. I look again. Nothing. I scan the area once more. Out of the corner of my eye, I spy the bug. Right there!

I blink. I look again. Nothing. I scope out the area but nothing.

My mind plays tricks? No. I know I spy a bug.

Those little suckers are fast.

Oh it's ok. So, I keep looking. No worries though. I'll find it.

There it is! That little bug. It's mine! I sit still, but my tail flickers.

It lands. Right here. Front row seat for me. Hi ya Mr. Bug. You sure bug me! Meet Mr. Paw!SMASH! GULP!

Monkey & Zip-Tie

This morning I started my day with a little zip-tie playing.

These are one of my favorite things to play with.

When Mommy realized I liked them, she brought home a big container full. They were all different sizes and colors.

She even used them to make my first kitty enclosure.

My bestest girl, ~Simba~, asked me what they were so I wanted to show her, along with other kitties who may need a new toy. Here is what they look like.

It's an easy thing to pick up with my teeth. I can grab it with my claws. I can even pick it up or move it with both of my paws.

The other day Mommy brought me one that was 2x longer than me.

I doubt I'll ever lose that one.

Reminiscent Monkey

Cooper and I have spent the day reminiscing of our good times we had on our kitty enclosure. Now that the new one is here and being worked on, we can't help but reflect on such great times we've had. To better explain, I'll just show you by way of my pics. of course.

This is the life.

Always sunny, always beautiful, always a good day.

All I know is Mommy made them both and we love the one we have and we'll love the one we're getting when she finally finishes it! heh heh

The bonus is that we'll be up a lot higher and we'll be able to see for miles and miles. That's a lot of bird watching!

Monkey Hole

Sometimes when I like to chill sorta on the DL, this is where I find it quite nice!

I'm still able to keep my eye on you know who.

Nipped Out Monkey

I must admit that I like the nip. Fresh, flake, shake, in a toy, on the floor, wherever it may be, I'll all over it.

There is always fresh catnip around. It's pretty much the grass kind. (See handsome fellow in pic.) Yeah, that's the kind I usually eat.

This kind makes me the least loopy.

The shake and flake kind.....found in a toy or in a jar, yeah well that stuff gets me nuts.

IT MAKES THE MONK, KA-WAZY!!!

Does that look like normal behavior to you? heh heh (Don't answer that.)

I love zoomin' around, chasin' Cooper, chasing a toy, rippin' it up all over the place!

Sometimes, I just get a little frisky and make weird faces and eyes. I look around for something to attack. Maybe I'll roll around on the floor.

Other times, I sit there wondering which direction I should run to in order to get to no particular place, in a really big hurry.

I think I love catnip because it just lets me be me, but.....I'm always me, so...well....wait! Maybe I just love it 'cuz it's cosmic?? heh

Well, I noticed Mommy bought this new kind.

It looks pretty.

I'll let you know how it goes. Right now, I gotta go. I see a bug! ....................zoom!!!

Monkey's Enclosure Update

Friday night, Mommy walked in with something I'd never seen before. She put it down in the living room. I immediately ran over to her and it. I began sniffing around. Cooper joined in too. Mommy kept saying, "I have a surprise for you. It's just not ready yet." Cooper and I were very intrigued.

Mommy brought in the second piece and said, "Ok guys, I don't know how or why you think this belongs to you. It's not even put together yet and you're all over it." Then she said, "You know whatever it is, it's the coolest."

Heck yeah, whatever it was sure seemed pretty darn cool, that's for sure.

I had a feeling I knew what it was. I mean, who else could it have been for? I was on my hind legs leaning against one piece. Cooper was walking through and underneath it. Then Mommy and Daddy said something to each other then Mommy said, "You two be good. We'll be right back." Mommy knelt down and pet me. As Mommy walked out the door, she sang back at us, "You two better behave."

Before the door even closed, I hopped on. It seemed safe so I gave the ok to Cooper. "Chirp" - Cooper onboard.

We stood there in awe. Looking up. Looking down. I was sure there was plenty of fun to be had.

Then.....the door opened very slowly.

We froze.

Mommy peeked in then her and Daddy walked in laughing. Daddy said, "Monkey! Cooper! You couldn't wait, could you?"

Mommy said, "You two have to be careful. Come on down." She picked us up and put us back down on the floor.

Yeah, that lasted 10 seconds.

Mommy went out on the balcony and began moving things around. Daddy was close by arranging the pieces for Mommy.

I couldn't sit still. I was so excited to explore this huge contraption. I was careful though as it seemed a little rickety.

Cooper jumped up and started walking on a very thin piece. Then it wobbled, turned and she fell off.

Mommy ran back inside and picked Cooper up to check for signs of injury.

She said, "Cooper. Monkey. This is soooo not finished yet and it's very dangerous. Be careful." She hit Daddy in the arm and went back outside.

In seconds, Cooper hopped back up and began her own exploratory adventure.

I watched her from the other side. Man, did she have some good ideas!

Cooper was standing on the shelf then she was on her hind legs, trying to climb up on top of it.

Just then, Daddy put his hands on her to keep her from jumping.

Cooper sat back down and watched me.

As I made my way to the far side.

My heart began racing.

Cooper had given me a brilliant idea. This was gonna be so much fun.

I saw an opportunity and I had to take it.

I reached up with my front paws to grab a hold of the top piece. I stuck out my claws to get a better grasp.

With my hind legs pushing off from the shelf, I slowly began my climb.

The adrenaline was pumping. What a rush!!

At that moment, I saw Mommy coming towards me and I knew it was all over.

Mommy stood there for a second, staring at me. She said, "Monkey, you are unbelievable!" She giggled as she picked me up and nuzzled me.

"I can't believe people ask me how you got your name."

With that, Cooper and I were confined to the hallway.

When we finally got released "from jail", we ran out into the living room and everything was back to normal. Everything was gone.

Monkey Holds Back

This is Cooper being her cute self. Do you know how annoying that is?

Just when I want to bop her, pounce on her, tackle her and beat her down, she gives me this look. Mommy and Daddy might melt when she does that, but I just get frustrated. She acts all cute in her "luv bug" way, with her "i'm so cute, pet me, don't beat me" charm.

Oooh, my blood boils and sometimes I have to pounce on her even more.

With full force.

As you know, I just walk away.

I can sometimes do it anyway, but in this case, I let her be.

I can live with that.

Monkey Dresser

Ha, I bet you thought I'd be wearing a dress! Nope, not this Monk. I party naked baby!

Just me, sitting on the dresser where the drawer used to be. Not it's a cat nap nook!

It's a great spot to see the birds outside the window. I can easily keep my eyes on who walks into and out of the bedroom.

I think I like it most because in the back of where the drawer used to be, I get lucky sometimes and find little bugs and spiders. Not bad for late night snacks.

Photo Shoot Foiled!

This shouldda, couldda, wouldda been a very good photo.

Just as the timer on the camera went off, Cooper jumped on the table and shook it.

Can someone please tell her to sit still?

That girl's got antz in her pantz!

Monkey's Water Testing Seminar

Mommy is really good about keeping our water fountains full and fresh. She's constantly cleaning the dispensers and changing the filters. It's so easy. Right?

Well, when Mommy is on water clean-up duty, a representative from MB Water Patrol is always present to conduct an inspection. This is the hard part. I am the CEO, but I'm very "paws-on" so I conduct the inspections myself.

What inspection - you ask? Well..........the process is quite detailed, but I will try to explain as best I can.

All water released for consumption must PASS the MB Water Patrol - Level #5 H2O Standard Specification Codes. To achieve a Level #5 Standard Rating, drops of water at different times and areas must be tested for Softness, Temperature, Pressure, Clarity and Taste.

I know. I know. It sounds complicated. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Don't get me wrong. It does involve hard labor.

For those of you who would like to learn (or want their parents to learn) how to conduct this test, see my "training video" posted below.

Oh yeah, you may want to get your note pads to be sure you get all the steps. (Unless you don't mind a lower rating). Push PLAY when you're ready.

Luckily for Mommy, there were no violations or citations. She obtained a Level #5 Rating PASS. (Last inspection she received a warning.)

So what do you think? I know!!! Right? Makes me thirsty too!

After a thorough inspection like that, (exerting all that effort and brain power), it's quite a relief knowing the water is safe for consumption. It's both rewarding and refreshing. More like...."thirst quenching"!

Monkey Eats Cooper

I knew I was gonna get my wish.

I could never stand that CooperGirl, MamaGirl, (whatever they call her), little sister of mine! I'd had enough of her to last me 9 lives.

She won't be sitting on Daddy's lap anymore!

Why? 'Cuz today, I let her have it.

I bit her tail right off!

What?

Totally kidding. I wouldn't ever do anything "really bad" to Cooper. Just mild beatings now and then. Heh heh

This is my "Tail" toy that Daddy got me.

I just pretend it's HER!

Monkey on the Map

I was visiting my friend ~Junior's~ blog tonight and aside from it being cool with his adorable pics and clever posts, I found his little GuestMap link quite interesting. So I left him a little note and decided to get my own GuestMap. I'd like to know where everykitty/one is from. How cool is that?

You can too! Maybe we'll start a trend. I'd be honored if you left me a note on mine, kitties/peeps. You'll see it underneath my archives.

Thanks Junior!

Lean Mean Monkey

My diet secret. DO NOT tell anykitty.

Had you totally going, didn't i?

This is soooo not mine. It's actually Daddy's. Judging by the tag and dust, he has yet to use it. Heh Heh.....Did I say that out loud?

Monkey Up High

You can't beat it. The view from above.

I like to watch the fish/turtle tank. Those fishies. They won't sit still. It's also a great place to spot BUGS. Especially close to that light that's always shining in my face. hmph! They usually fly right in front of my nose then I chase then down and eat them.

Monkey Afternoon Snooze

This afternoon, out on the balcony it was a sweet delight. The birds were singing and flying around, but I was too sleepy to watch. Cooper was sound asleep in the room and wasn't around to annoy me. Peace, at last. It was a perfect day for an outdoor nap, so I climbed into my bed and off to napsville I went.

Mommy's Favorite Monkey Pics

Although there are thousands upon thousands of photos of yours truly, I am posting the ones that Mommy loves the most. Tomorrow is her birthday and I wanted to start early.

Mommy, check this one out! I know you love it.

Right?

I'm sure you kitties have all seen them before, but Mommy never gets sick of them.

Right Mommy?

Awww, look at me here, Mommy. You adore this one.

Mommy, remember this one? You love this one, don't you? Yeah, I knew it.

Ok, well I hope I didn't bore you kitties. BUT, if I keep looking through my albums, this entry will be like a mile long with all my photos all over again!

Happy Early Birthday Mommy!

Mommy rules!
