This is pretty much what I did all day. Sleep, sleep and more sleep. My party was a great success. You can read about it all on my Catster Webpage and see all the pics from the party. We rode different rides including the awesomest roller coaster. It's a video on my page. Also at Catster were my friends from Kitty Cats Corner, who came to my party and were generous enough to bring tons of food. Sorry they couldn't stay longer, but there's always a party around the corner.
Monkey needs another nap, then it's time to get back to Monkey Business work!

I'll be having my party on Catster in the Monkey Business Group Forum. For those that have a little monkey in them, and even those that don't, you're all welcome to join me and all my friends. It's gonna be a blast, cuz we sure know how to party!

Bathroom Loungin'
As a monkey, the bathroom rug has many uses. I can run in from the hallway and slide it across the floor; I can lay on my side, hold it with my front paws and wrinkle it up using my back kickers; or I can just relax and take a nap in my stwetchy-stwetch position. In this photo, I chose the nap. (only after I did the first two!)

Sweet Boy Monkey
Daddy said I was an extra specialy kitty because I was a good big brother to Cooper while he was gone. He said Mommy gave me an A+ for everything. She told him I was well behaved. I didn't beat Cooper up, bad at all. heh heh She said that I was an excellent stand-in as Man of the House. He said he was very very proud of me. He said he loved me and missed me very much!
He had nice things to say to Cooper too, but we're talking about me now. And that's so last year!
Got new toys, playtime with Daddy, things are back to normal already. Cooper's already found a spot on his lap. argh! Yep, things are normal again.

Moping Monkey
Well, Mommy, Cooper and I just got back from dropping Daddy off at the airport. Yep, he's gone. He won't be back for 6 whole days. He hasn't left town since I was a little bucky. My sister Cooper hasn't ever gone a day without Daddy and tomorrow will be her first. Wish us luck, we'll be on our own all day. Mommy said she'd be home for lunch, but I mean geesh, you'da thought she'da taken the next week off to stay home with us, hello??? Actually, she doesn't need to do that, we'll be fine. I keep telling her but she doesn't listen.
I mean don't get me wrong, Mommy is a great Mommy and she gives us tons of love, it's just that Daddy plays with us during the day and I guess that's what I'll miss most.
Guess Cooper and I will have lots of naps during the day so we'll be ready to party and play with Mommy as soon as she opens the door. We'll keep her busy all night until she goes to sleep. She'll love that, I'm sure!
At least I now have Coop to hang with. It sure beats staying home alone right? Right!
Down in the dumps.

Training a Monkey
As a Monkey-Kitten, I was quick to learn to use cat scratchers. Since Mommy herself had learned that scratchers do more than keep kitties from scratching furniture, she placed them about my new home.
The first was easy to use as it was placed on the living room floor. The second and third confused me a little as they were nailed to the wall about 6” above the floor. (Near the front door and by the kitchen). Since they were a little high up, I would usually stand there and look at them.
“Mommy and Me“ wall-scratching-lessons usually took place when I was near the kitchen. Mommy would stand me up and gently place my paws on it (without forcing me to scratch). With her hand, she would scratch it and say, “Scratch like this Monkey.” she’d scratch again. The first time, I hopped down and walked away. The next two times I remained standing while watching her. “Good boy, Monkey”, she’d say and scratch again to show me. The next few times, I was golden. I would scratch, scratch and scratch away! Of course, tweats would follow.
I grew quite fond of the wall scratchers because I was able to extend my front legs, grasp onto the scratcher, and lean into it and stretch, stwetch and stwetch. (With each growth spurt, Mommy would adjust the height of the scratchers.) When Mommy or Daddy would see me scratching, I would get a tweat and a “good boy”! This scratcher thing was really paying off! The one by the kitchen was my favorite, as it was closest to the Tweat Cabinet, it was like a “sure thing”. “Good Boy” equaled “tweat”, I never forgot that!
Every so often, in the middle of a play session, I would high tail it over to the scratcher, stand up and put my paws on it to scratch. If Mommy or Daddy were watching, I barely had to scratch and I would get a “good boy” and a tweat. Wow, this was now like it’s own game. Mommy would often say to Daddy, “Look at Monkey. He just runs over and puts his paws on it and waits. Once his pads hit the scratcher, he’s like…..”look I’m scratching!”. He doesn’t even scratch anymore, it’s like Tag!” Daddy would laugh. What did I care, they were trained! Success!
With this, I didn’t scratch anywhere except where I was supposed to. On my scratchers, my kitty climber, my perch, etc. “Good Monkey”, huh?
